Houston 11/2/01 Live in TX

Live Houston from Emo's in Austin, TX. I flew out to see 2 Shiner/Houston shows; the first show in Dallas and this one in Austin. It was fun as I recall that these were once my drinking days. I had drank several beers through out the night and you can prolly hear me near the minidisc talking a bit. It's hilarious. Oh yeah, some guy was heckling Houston and I actually had some words while shooting photos from the stage. The guys from Houston will remember this night as I defended my favorite band from this dude's heckling. Remember I was drunk...

Without further adieu:

My 1st Podcast (not up yet)

Well, tonight marks the 2nd interview I've ever recorded, the first being put aside because I never got the CD package I was promised. But that said and done, I called Tim Fogarty, drummer extraordinaire of El Ten Eleven. It was fun asking him questions about his band, touch base a little on the history of the band, and other things. Once I do a little more editing and listening to the podcast back I will upload this mp3/m4a to podomatic. Gotta make sure I still have an account with them. Oh yeah, Kristian referred me to them. Oh I gotta add a fade out to the end...

Upcoming shows:

Helen 55 @ the Roxy, 10th anniversary show this Wednesday!

National Sunday Law w/Fight Amp this Friday @ Micheal's Pub.

March Release for Honey

Open Hand has a bio and in it it says March is the release time for the forthcoming album. Looks like another month got tacked on to the countdown. Hopefully it'll stay that way and no more friggin' delays!!!

Take That With My 'Open Hand'

Well, well, well, last night was a rager when Open Hand hit stage. Wish there were a photographer there to get a business card from, alas, there was just the plain old point and shoot folks. Oh well, at least the show came out well on the Ed. Soundguy definitely had some trouble mixing the so many mics on stage... 1 for Ryan, 2 for Justin, 3 for Keyboardist duder, and THREE more mics for the Angels!!! Oh yeah, did I tell ya it was packt? There were shit ton of folks for the Hand!!! Which was nice!

OHHHHHHH, the real joy for a person who's seen the Hand for the past few years, they started the set with a different song!!! PHEW! Change it up man! Thank goodness!!! They opened with "Werden (tentatively called?)," one of the heavier songs on the New Album instead of their usual "Hard Night" intro and song from their "You and Me" album. They played a couple more new numbers from "Honey" which were, "Cool" and "Herons." I was so looking forward to hear "Herons" live even though Matt Talbott sings on the album version. Goodness gracious, that song rockt live!!!

Alex Organ (for those not in the know is Jason Gerken's half brother) pounded the drums last night. He was so damn unforgiving! Relentless! It runs in the family I guess. The rest of the band was tight! The Angels add a new dimension to the band, making it funner? Shit, that's not even a word, but funner is what I'm going to run with and say about this new lineup!!!

Gently uploading this show now to the server... T-minus 20 minutes:

Happy Nude Years!

Well, tonight I've been working on a Sunny Day Real Estate show from 2000 and am halfway thru it. It took a good hour to do half the set which is about 50min long. This is a show that a friend from the http://sunnydayrealestate.net sent to me to see if I can do a good job eq'ing this beast. Thanks, Luke, for recording these 3 shows. It's nice to hear ole sets of Sunny Day.

Here is a list of shows that I've recorded recently or in the month of December:

20091221 Harrassor
20091221 Black Cobra
20091219 El Ten Eleven
20091216 Tera Melos
20091216 Melt-Banana
20091214 The Outline (opening for Mew)

I will update my site, but I'm going to go for an Xbox 360 break for a bit. HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
