American Squares

Well, this is the continuation of the KEN Mode and Helms Alee sets posted last week or so. "Empros" is still my favorite record by Russian Circles and this particular night they played "Schipol" in the middle of the set. It was beautiful and a song they don't perform live much anymore. I'm so glad I caught this performance just to hear it live, so awesome. It was a great and well rounded set overall featuring songs from their catalog up until their Memorial album.

Remember kids, 320kbps for you audiophiles out there, and variable bitrate for you other audiophiles in there...

Boso Ought to

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The following files are the 320kbps and variable bitrate mp3s of the album, "Bosozoku" by Thirty Ought Six. Enjoy this blast from the past!

These were mp3s that were sent to me a long time ago, maybe 15 years or so? It was from a friend in Europe who had gotten a tape from David Blunk. Evidently the original rip of these tunes was a bit on the damaged side. But good grief, Charlie Brown, Jack Lord is a beast of a song!

Another friend recently or maybe a few years ago sent these to me. "Bosozoku" acoustic, "Dalliance" and hearing "Eris" live, man, I hope more stuff surfaces. One year I attempted to get a hold of the producer of "Hag Seed"--John Goodmanson, but didn't get through. I wanted to find out if he had any other recordings from those days... Oh well, these will definitely suffice!

It's the 20th Anniv of Failure's Whisky A Go Go show!

It's midnight! The official 20th birthday/anniversary of Failure's show at the Whisky A Go Go that I commissioned for $85 for the master VHS tape. Enjoy this 21 song set from yesteryear. A phenomenal set of their three album repertoire. Was ripped from the VHS earlier this year but decided that this would be better to release on it's 20th! Originally my buddy transferred the VHS to DVD for me but didn't author it or split the songs--I had to re-transfer it so that it would be a crisp exchange to audio. Unfortunately I couldn't re-rip the DVD my friend burned for me cos the songs were split incorrectly in 5 VOB files for the entire set. I have the dongle for transferring to VHS, but need software to re-rip the footage better. Might try the Adobe Creative Cloud if I can do that.

This is newly remastered for loudness! Turn it up!

Helming Alieens

The 2nd band of a great three band show, Helms Alee. I need to get rest to see Rogue One tomorrow morning. I promise no spoilers!

KENny G Mode

School has been keeping me busy, however, after my last final I had some free time to work on some boots. This one was a trifecta of a show, Ken Mode, Helms Alee, and Russian Circles. I really enjoy all three of these bands and it was a stacked bill I couldn't miss. First up will be KEN Mode the first band of the show. It's an opening set, but they pull out the big ones at the El Rey. Last two songs are my favorite tunes by them, Enjoy!
